still working on it, just noticed something though.

FIFA 11 ratings for Keisuke Honda are the following:

PA= 81 (79 short pass, 82 long pass)
VE= 84
HE= 75 (jump)
TA= 71
CO= 83
SP= 81 (82 speed + dash speed 80)
FI= 80

That roughly translates into the following SWOS stats:

6655666

yet the updated Honda in the Russia team file is: 6644555 ???

It s not quite as simple as that. The attributes are weighted against the player s overall rating so that in SWOS they give the same corresponding overall rating/transfer value. There are also some adjustments based on the player s position which only come into play if the desired number of points wasn t precisely reached during conversion (rare).
Otherwise, if you just take those 7 attributes and ignore the rest, some players would be hugely overrated in SWOS (all-round utility players) and some hugely underrated (specialised players such as wingers and centre backs).
Hope that makes sense.

Also, you missed Yuki Abe at Leicester, he s a starter over there and he s been playing a pretty good season AFAIK (started 9 times and was subbed in 6 times out of 20 matches or something)

At the time I did it, Leicester had 3 or 4 CMs with more minutes IIRC. I will have another look at the current situation there perhaps.
Someone starting only 9 times in 20 is not always going to make a SWOS 16 though; that would not be enough starts for an automatic inclusion if it were being done on starts, but would maybe end up on the bench. The change in manager complicates this yet more.

edit: King, Wellens and Oakley still all have more minutes and more starts so I can t really form a case for forcing him into the sixteen. Will have another look later.

EDIT: looks like England teams ratings are 0-15 as well.

I did mention this - only in the Prem. This is because I did that first and at that point was still manually entering attributes and thus could enter 8-15 attributes. It is only the auto-import method that restricts to 0-7.

EDIT#2: Synchro, can you give me a definitive deadline for the file (I wanna know how much time I have left)?

I reckon final testing and release to be Thursday evening. Therefore during the day on Thursday some time, at the latest.
Don t worry if you can t make it. I have the existing file either way.
I appreciate that converting attributes manually can take a LOT of time. That s why I set up the automation method for FIFA and FM (whose databases can be obtained as convenient tables of numbers).

In most places, Stephan Andersen and Peter Madsen s hair (for example) is considered light, I think. It s blond on FIFA (well, it s a colour that is being called blond throughout the db) hence it is blond here, and pretty much anyone else with that hair colour is labeled as blond. So not sure what to do with hair colours as this will be inconsistent with the rest of the data if ones such as these are changed. I agree that a couple of others appear to be wrong. Most of the ones you ve listed as black hair, though, have quite blond hair as per a quick google search.

I know about this character, but if I write Staale Solbakken then I have to find all examples of this character in everyone s name and do the same. Same with German characters with umlaut, Jurgen/Juergen everywhere... in this discussion (which I have had many times, even with friends who happen to be linguists) I take my example from the original SWOS database and just use the one character. i.e. it is Jurgen Klinsmann and not Juergen Klinsmann and that s just how it is on SWOS. Whether that convention is variously incorrect or not, it can at least be consistently applied!

I won t be able to replace players who are leaving (eg S. Berg) as the update represents September 2010, pretty much. So for example Roman Bednar is still at WBA. This is again necessary for consistency due to the fact that there are Summer leagues in the database. In the winter the players of these teams are often between clubs or going elsewhere. As an example of how this can go wrong, a few seasons ago I was keeping an update up-to-the-minute and at the time of release IFK Go(e)teborg had no goalkeepers (Bengt Andersson had just left/retired I think). Hence the importance of trying to pick a date that is sustainable, and that is during the season (no matter where you are) and not during a transfer window.

The rest I will fix today at least, thanks!

How many changes need making?
The release is going to be Thursday evening and as the HUN file is now pretty good (and probably better than some others) I m not too worried about it.
Not so much that the release is delayed.
If you could just give me what information you can before Thursday afternoon, the release goes ahead either way and it s fine I think.

National teams are too numerous and too arguable/flexible selection-wise... you can make it perfect for this week and next week it will be wrong anyway. They will be in the final file tomorrow evening :)

Ofc, national teams can not be fit to everybodys mind. I just offer reviewing the HUN team, if you want it.

I don t have the SWOS file or editor here at work but I *do* have the xls file so I can recreate it.
The HUN national team is straight out of FIFA and should match this:

Torghelle, Dzsudzsak, Vadocz are blond as per FIFA. Some of the attributes won t match the ones from FM, obv.

Don t worry about the 386, that s just a constant that allows the csv to be imported correctly.

There are other players in the FIFA squad that can be brought in if that selection is pants. It s just those are the best players in the FIFA squad according to FIFA so that s the automatically-imported selection.
