One person was unlucky enough to create an account exactly when I was making some updates... you didn t the the default original dataset automatically, but I have added it manually to your account now.

Although all passwords are stored encrypted and I can not see them, please don t use a sensitive password. They should be safe, but I m not internet security expert!

Update

You can now edit directly in the search results. E.g:

1. Select England and Premier League, 20 results show;
2. Edit team and click save after finished with each team;
3. Team will save and autoscroll back to the same team you were editing;
4. Continue editing.

There is a save button for each team, only edits for that team are saved when you click it.

OK so I thought I understood how the tactics and position in file works, but I don t.

In the tactics screen, what decides the order the players are displayed? I thought it was the position in file numbers but it is not.

Also, what is used to map each player to a position in the tactic. Again, if you simply use the position in file numbers it doesn t work.

For example, here s the position in file list for Arsenal:

0 = DAVID SEAMAN
2 = LEE DIXON
4 = STEVE BOULD
5 = TONY ADAMS
3 = NIGEL WINTERBURN
8 = PATRICK VIEIRA
7 = MARTIN KEOWN
12 = DAVID PLATT
9 = PAUL MERSON
13 = DENNIS BERGKAMP
14 = IAN WRIGHT
1 = JOHN LUKIC
6 = ANDY LINIGHAN
10 = GLENN HELDER
11 = RAY PARLOUR

However, here is the order in the team screen:

For example, I make a popup feature to show where the player will be in the selected tactic, but ti doesn t match up because of the problem above. Anybody?

First problem:

You say 5-3-2 the sweeper should be number 3.

In Arsenal, number 3 is Nigel Winterburn (also shirt number, just coincidence) but their Sweeper is Steve Bould (number 4).

In Liverpool, number 3 is Stig Bjornebye but their sweeper is Mark Wright (number 4)

Second problem:

What order are the players displayed in game? It is not the same order as the 16 team tactics positions.

Hmm maybe I m being incredibly stupid, but...

I configure the 5-3-2 tactic with the indeces in your example. Arsenal looks correct.

Then I change Liverpool to use the 5-3-2 tactic (in game and in editor) and now they don t match:

Your tactic indeces says:

7 = KEOWN = RIGHT CENTER BACK.

For Arsenal this matches up OK.

For Liverpool, the game tactic screen shows

RIGHT CENTER BACK = MATTEO.

MATTEO is index 6 in the file, so in editor he shows up as SUB 2 (same as LINIGHAN in Arsenal).

Index 7 in Liverpool is RUDDOCK, so he shows up at RIGHT CENTER BACK. This is not correct, in the game it is MATTEO.

See what I mean?
