Re: AMIGA or PC?
- Fast stable rather than Amiga version
- A lot of custom team, graphics and sound
- SWOS++ supports (Replay function)
- Fast game loading speed
- No online gameplay supported
- Small playfield rather tha Amiga version
- Low screen resolution
- Online gameplay supported
- Wider playfield rather than PC version
- High screen resolution
- Better gameplay
- Few custom team, graphics and sound
- Slow game loading speed
- Some bugs (Highlight load problem)
Now that I can play both versions with good emulation, the Amiga version is harder and faster, true - but this is necessary.
The players attributes seem far more individual - a fast shot is FAST, a slow player is SLOW.
I also can t live without the Amiga THUD when the ball hits the goalkeeper. Just 3 guys going aww is not enough...
one thing that this year Sensidays made clear (again) is how crappy the amiga version is comparing to the superior PC update.
My oh my..... A PC update you call it? Do you even realise the amiga was dead at this time, and almost no releases were made to this aging system anymore? I call it more like a cheap ass conversion in an attempt to squeeze out a few more dollars of this game. Does this sound familiar to you in a newer sense? *cough* xbla....
amiga plays like ice hockey, the ball slides like a hockey puck, behaves wrong in the air. thank god they released the PC version back then, getting rid of all the bugs, because we would be stuck with this crap forever.
i know, looks like i m trolling, but just play the two games guys again, and think. hopefully one day we can just abandon the amigas, and play proper two days PC tournament on sensidays.
Sorry, but yes it does look like you re trolling!!!
However I feel like you haven t played the amiga version enough, to do a fair judging of it. Regardless of which version you picked up first and played more, you pick your favorite naturally. But both versions has good things in them.
I personally prefer the amiga version over pc, but I started playing classic sensi on amiga 500 after school, then a classic conversion on pc, then swos 96-97 on pc, and then forgot about it untill one day by accident i found ss.de, and tried the sega sensi amiga swos 96-97 online, and didnt try pc swos again before issa in copenhagen. Now i have probably played both versions of swos equally. For me the biggest difference is the pace, ball psysics, goalies, and the type of goals you can score because of this (as you probably know you can t copy all goals from pc to amiga and vice versa). The amiga version just seem like a faster gameplay for me and thus more entertaining to play imo, and it seems like the keepers on the amiga version are a lot better.
