Big name bargains... was created by Playaveli
Do you know any star players (from now and then) in SWOS 96/97 that are really bargains ( 1m) ??
I know these 2 strikers:
- Filipo Inzaghi [FSV], 850k Atalanta (Ita), wicked shot, good speed
- Roy Makaay [SFC], 950k - Vitesse (Ned), amazingly fast, nice control and finishing
Does anyone know some more big names that are really cheap and still have great skills?

Tommy Mooney [FSV] 200k from Watford. What a bargain! Great speed and shooting for such a small price!
Wherever Serge Van Hoof was from, I think he did a brilliant job with the swos stats. Generally there is a good balance to the teams. Although all he done for the Brazilian league since the first SWOS was just change the names.

I tried this player after I read in another thread here about him:
Red Star Belgrad - Jovan Stankovic RW SCT 350K
fast control and can score, great player especially for this price.
Also there are some big names in Japan leagues like:
Urawa Reds - Guido Diego Buchwald M PST 700K
I feel he is kind of slow but good passing and great control tested him once and made some nice dribblings with Diego .Â
Another playa I always buy or exchange if I have not much money is:
Servette (Swiss) - Cyrille Pouget A FSH 600K
cheap, ok speed and scores.

In every new career I start with buying Uwe Spies 750k SC Freiburg / Germany. Hes very fast has very good shooting and a medium ball control. Just a bad header But he rocks, especially when you start in lower leagues!

Hi ya SWOS fans.
Here s a decent couple of players from the PC version of SWOS 96/97
1860 Munich (Ger) - Bernard Winkler A ???k - This guy is a great striker for only a few 100k. Excellent shot and nippy runner with half decent ball control.
Wigan (Eng) - Nigel Wright LW ???k - Buy this player cheap and give him the ball to run at the defence. He ll shot up to 600k value, and he can score in the lower English leagues. His ball control is excellent for his value.
I ll post a few more when I get home later tonight
Cheers.

hmm, Oli, can you recommend some fast players?
@ Robchef: I will test Buchwald as soon as I have enough cash to get him. Fucking general running costs...

One little nice player that i always use in my careers is a croatian attacker from Perugia, Italy. His name is Milan Rapajic and his value is 750k. He is outstanding. Has a nice shot, he is very speedy and has also good finishing. Also, i would like to recommend a RW called Jorg Bode that plays for Arminia Bielefeld in Germany and his value is 300k. He really rocks the rim, because of his good speed and control.
