Depends on what players are in your squad, tactics have different effect on them (creating a new value and skill points accordingly).
So just load them both, and see which one creates more green ticks.

When a player grows from 1m to 3m. He is better than before? Or he is more expensive but same skill?
Can i get a 4m player from trial players?

If you let him play on the position where is money value goes up, he has better skills and he will perform better.
As the manual confirms...

You can get a 4M/4.5M player from RES and TRIAL, but only on rare occasions.
Happens mostly with RB/LB players, having skill letters like STC, SCT!

if he has the potential to grow to 4M, he will start with a value around 150k or 250k... and then rise dramatically if you let him play.
Players without a bigger potential start at 5k and do never outgrow 25k or sth like that...
