Re: "Friendly League Changes History" World Cup 1st edition results

A strange World Cup competition took place this time, there was no KO rounds and winner was decided on a final group stage, but it has been fun like always of course. This time teams were handed by draw and looking at the outcome we had 3 or 4 big favourites, Waenae as nr.1 with Brazil and then Pallister with Croatia followed by Daimaou s Spain and maybe Ryan with Italy. After first groupstage only Daimaou and Waenae survived from this group and were joined by xflea s Sweden and Lobo as the underdog playing with Bolivia.
During final round xflea started with a draw against lobo s Bolivia and then the big shocker when he beat favourites Brazil by 5-3, then Daimaou s Spain beats Brazil by 2-1 and a hard to beat Lobo by 2-0. Meanwhile Waenae beats Lobo too and gets the 3rd place. After that it was a decision between the 2 FLCH organizers again. This time xflea was the underdog, the match was pretty intense, 2 early goals from Spain put them much more confortable especially as the draw would be enough, but Sweden never gave up till the end and put up a good fight, final score 5-4. 9 goals in a final, some defensive mistakes yes, but very entertaining match and great performance by xflea and his surprising Sweden. Final positions for medalists were Daimaou at 1st place, xflea at 2nd and Waenae as 3rd.
