I m so thankful for this database. I found Expedit Dossou Gbeteeeeeee because of this and added him to my team now. He s going to be a legend. And he would be the same, not-knowing average soccer player as before without u ;D

whiteulver - great work mate! your online database is simply brilliant

I always wanted to have the whole SWOS database in excel format and now it was a trivial thing to do - I just displayed ALL the players in the search mode (you were right - needs a lot of memory and good connection) and imported into excel

here it is:

xflea.republika.pl/swos/swos-database.zip
about 1MB .zip, 5MB .xls

I have made a few additions/changes:
1. I erased all CUSTOM teams
2. I made 2 spreadsheets: 1st for PLAYERS statistics (25.264 players altogether) and 2nd for TEAMS statistics (1.579 teams altogether)
3. I calculated the total number of points for each player/team
4. I changed the names of teams that are same in different leagues (eg. BARCELONA in Spain and BARCELONA in Ecuador are now BARCELONA (ESP) and BARCELONA (ECU) respectively)
5. I divided teams into 2 types: LEAGUE and NATIONAL

Some remarks:
1. there are no formulas in this excel file - I saved it all AS VALUES - it works MUCH faster...:)
2. many thanks to Blind Playaveli for beta-testing...:P
3. columns are:
in players spreadsheet:
No [number]
Name
Pos [position]
Nat [nationality]
PA [passing]
VE [velocity]
HE [heading]
TA [tackling]
CO [control]
SP [speed]
FI [finishing]
TOT [total number of skill points]
Value
Team
League
Type [LEAGUE or NATIONAL]
in teams spreadsheet:
Team
League
Type [LEAGUE or NATIONAL]
PA [passing]
VE [velocity]
HE [heading]
TA [tackling]
CO [control]
SP [speed]
FI [finishing]
TOT [total number of skill points]
Value
here are numbers summarized for each team...

enjoy! :D

Hi all,

I have made a slightly updated version of xflea s excel sheet using values 0-7 instead of 0-15. This makes finding a player using filters much easier (see below example). Also, it now makes sense to add up the individual skill scores to produce a TOTAL, whereas this was meaningless when using both 0-7 and 8-15 values.

I have noticed that, apart from goalkeepers, the value is defined by the sum of the skill scores:
Total = 0 or 1, Value = 25,000
Total = 2, Value = 30,000
T = 3, V = 40,000
T = 4, V = 50,000
T = 5, V = 65,000
...
etc, up to
...
T = 47, V = 12,000,000
T = 48 or 49, V = 15,000,000

This means that there are no bargain players as such, because a cheaper player will always have a worse overall skill set, however you may consider a player a bargain when you consider certain skills as having priority. In this case, you are looking for players which have good scores in the skills you do desire and zero in the skills you do not desire.

E.g. searching for Pos=A, SP 3, FI 3, VE 3, Value 400,000 gives the following options:
FERNANDO DI CARLO: PA=1,VE=4,HE=3,TA=0,CO=0,SP=4,FI=4,TOT=16,VALUE=300,000
GANIYU OWOLABI: PA=0,VE=5,HE=0,TA=1,CO=1,SP=5,FI=4,TOT=16,VALUE=300,000
CARL VEART: PA=1,VE=5,HE=0,TA=1,CO=1,SP=5,FI=4,TOT=17,VALUE=350,000
TOMMY MOONEY: PA=0,VE=4,HE=0,TA=0,CO=0,SP=4,FI=6,TOT=14,VALUE=200,000
ANDY HUNT: PA=2,VE=4,HE=0,TA=1,CO=1,SP=5,FI=4,TOT=17,VALUE=350,000
DENNIS KRIJGSMAN: PA=0,VE=4,HE=1,TA=2,CO=2,SP=4,FI=4,TOT=17,VALUE=350,000
CARMINE GAUTIERI: PA=0,VE=5,HE=1,TA=0,CO=1,SP=6,FI=4,TOT=17,VALUE=350,000

If you were only interested in SP, FI and VE then the best bargain is MOONEY as he does not waste any skill points on the other skills, which is why his VALUE is lower.

If someone is able to host the updated Excel file please let me know and I can email it to them.

Cheers
Phil
