Does anyone knows this guy who makes and maybe sells amiga diy keypads?
Or someone who is able to build and buy some keypads?

Thanks

Hello everytone, I wonder if someone is able to let us know about one doubt we have when we are playing in real amigas:

In SWOS winuae and MISt, When you press opposites arrow keys, one of them always prevail.

In the custom keypad, in swos winuae:
pressing left and right - right wins
pressing up and down - down wins

But I found out that it changes in MIST, where up and right wins, and without adaptor (directly usb to the mist) another directIons prevail

Can anyone check in real amiga, with custom keypad, which directions prevail over its opposite?
I think it is a matter of the usb adaptor, but we actually don't know which are the prevalent keys in real amigas, thanks!

only in case you can, thanks!

If MIST works properly then the real Amiga *should* behave the same, but it would be good to test! If someone has a real Amiga but no keypad, they could also test with a joystick by taking it apart and pressing two opposing microswitches at the same time.

It's possible that because this is an input combination that the original developers would have never accounted for (it's impossible on a joystick), that the game could react in an inconsistent way to it, (though I think this is unlikely).

Hi, it is important and matters a lot in some automatized actions on keyboard, some effects and movements. At least, it is importat to us and we have no amigas to try. If not, I woudn't ask for it. Is someone is able and willing to test it, we will appreciate , thanks

I'm just curious... Have never heard this from any other world class keyboard player that this has any importance (in order to score from anywhere, create combos, or defend/block etc). Would love to hear from Blazej, djowGer or others about it.
Can you elaborate on the "automated actions... effects and movements"? Which ones?

If I am also curious since I have asked several of them and none directly "or answer me." If you played with it daily, which you don't do, you would understand the subject better. when you press two keys at the same time and these are the ones that do not prevail, the doll directly stops. The more days I play with the keypad on PC, the less it happens to me since I usually do the strafe the other way around than I did.

That is why the question is not so much if it influences or not, since "these players that you name and play with keypad and have many face-to-face tournaments will already know how to solve it or will have gotten used to playing or training before..."

Well, the question is easy for someone who has an original AMIGA and a keypad, when you press left-right or up and down at the same time, which keys prevail in the AMIGA.

Once I know the way, then I will decide if I continue training with the keypad or with my normal keyboard on PC, IT IS NOT THAT COMPLICATED, since I am not going to get my brain used to three different types of scenario:

pc keypad with adapter : right and down
pc with normal keyboard: left and up
db9 directly in mist : right and up

Now, if you think that when I press two keys at the same time this does not influence it, it is that you do not know the subject.

"Can you elaborate on the "automated actions... effects and movements"? Which ones?"

1 example : I give it to the striker and move diagonally to the right by pressing up and right at the same time and I think about making a pass to the left. If the left prevails, I don't have to lift my finger from the right key, winning time. Normally you don't notice this because you play daily to one side with the keyboard, at the moment I connect the keypad and the side is the opposite, since I don't lift my finger due to inertia from being used to it, the doll stops.

2 example: strafe with the doll from right to left or from left to right. when you do it very very fast with the keyboard, "theme feints" "tape" etc, you usually memorize that when you are pressing the right you can press the left at the same time and gain time again. What happens if you play with the keypad again and the movement is backwards? that not having memorized it, you return to not lifting your finger at the right time and the doll remains standing again.

Memorizing movements can take weeks and take them to the extreme for months. Now , when I go to play with an original AMIGA and I find the opposite movement , then I 'll get used to it as long as I can , period .

Thank you

and thanks to THD for being the only one to put a little interest in it
