Saving career in Vista (as Administrator & Non-Administrator) (Version ASWOS). was created by Jeppen
Hi,
first off, love the game and big thanks for bringing it revived into the world!
My problem:
If you start ASWOS.exe by right-click run as administrator , then when you save your career the save file in C:\Program\Amiga SWOS\/Disks will be updated normally.
BUT...
When you start ASWOS.exe by simply double clicking it, then when you save your career the C:\Program\Amiga SWOS\/Disks files will NOT be updated, the career gets saved some place else.
(Note that the career really gets saved, but out can only load the game if you use the same start procedure.)
Now, my question is.... where?
I m moving a lot between 2 computers so i need to bring the save files with me via an USB memory stick, but i can t bring it if i don t know where it is saved.
Hopefully there s a solution!
Thanks!

Thanks for the answer!
..but how do you mean?
do you mean not to install at C:\Program files\ etc.. or C:\Program\..at all?
Where should i install it? i mean i already played 1,5 seasons and would love to know where my career is saved so i don t have to redo everything again? =)

Install it to ANYWHERE else...
Example: C:\Games\SWOS
Your career is saved in the folder disks on the file save.adf! Just back it up.

Thanks for the example.
However, my game is not saved in disks\save.adf .. it is saved somewhere else, i can play for 1 hour and save, but when i check the times with save.adf file it hasn t been modified since the last time i saved it outside administrator mode.
..and since the game is saved it has to be somewhere else.
Damn Vista.

Vista saves it to a special folder. I can t remember where it is right now and I m not at home to check.
Simply reinstall the game to another location like C:\GAMES\SWOS and this problem won t happen. Trust me I run it on Vista too. You don t even need to reinstall the game, you can simply copy paste the folder to another location and run it from there.
