Some details revealed! was created by Playaveli
As Sensible Soccer s long-overdue rebirth continues apace, Tower Studios and Kuju Entertainment have revealed the first tantalising details of the mobile phone version of the all-time footy classic.
Due for release at the end of this month, it was confirmed yesterday that the conversion will sport all the original features that made Sensible Soccer such a massive hit with the press and public alike , including a choice of over 50 International teams, individual player skills for over 800 players, team tactics and squad selection (series 60 only), customisable friendlies, cups and leagues, yellow cards, red cards, and injuries, fast, frenetic football action and the most sublime, intuitive and playable control system .
Not being ardent mobile gamers (we love our GBAs, sorry), we re not entirely sure how you ll actually be able to buy the game, or even how much it will cost. We do know you need a Java enabled handset, but that s about it. We re a bit rubbish at these things, but in this case we ll endeavour to find out. Anyway; good news, no? We d be even more excited if they brought it out on GBA...
We collared Sensible design legend Jon Hare for a brief play on this mobile-ised Sensible Soccer at the recent EGN trade event, and came away impressed with the faithful graphical representation but wondered whether we d be able to cope without the presence of a diagonal control. Hare reckoned you get the hang of it . We await to find out.
In the obligatory press release Hare added: This is a great opportunity for us to bring Sensible Soccer to old and new fans alike. The key to Sensi Soccer is its addictive playability and its appeal to all people who love great games. We love it so much, we actually bought an Amiga 500 off Ebay last week for twenty quid. They really do rule, as long as you ignore the awful 3D attempts and stick to the likes of Alien Breed, Kick Off 2 and the like.

so had you played it already?
i played on nokia series40, and think it s poor. although footbalers are in that sensi-spirit we love, the gameplay does not.
maybe series60 version is better, but still marceldesailly soccer is the best for mobile...
anyway, it s great to carry our tiny players in your pocket

nothing can beat the original amiga editions, i would really like a new swos, but i dont want one that spoils the name, like swos98 did, if they can do it right it would be great though
