Sociable Soccer - New game by Jon Hare

Judging by the comments on the eurogamer link, the whole thing seems to have backfired. Not so confident about the future of this project anymore.

Really? What makes you think that? I think Jon is dealing with publishers at the mo, that s the impression I get anyway.

Just because it s the first real exposure on a mainstream site, which is what we were gunning for. But a large proportion of the comments seem to be rather negative for one reason or another. Towards the game, towards the kickstarter and even towards Hare s personally.

Hardly a big enough sample to draw a scientific conclusion, but just a shame it didn t get a more positive response.

I can see what you re saying Paul, but Jon knows his market, the comments on Eurogamer won t mean much to him. They re just keyboard warriors, if Sociable Soccer comes out and it s bloody fantastic (as I think we all hope) then I can t imagine those buffoons turning their back on the game because it has a slightly pants name, or due to Jon s political views on UKIP. They ll all buy it as quickly as we will; the future of the game is in Jon s capable hands, not a bunch of anonymous goons on an otherwise fairly sub-par gaming website.

Guess they re busy developing the game, rather than shouting about it from the rooftops. I m sure we ll all know about it when they have something to show.
