Edit the starting season in HEX was created by liambell_uk
Hi, wonder if you can help - does anyone know the hex position where I can change the starting season? So in 1996/97 version, the starting season is 1996-97 - but I am creating a SWOS 1990 PC/MAC version and would like the season information to read 1990-91

SWOS 2020 does that automatically. Just set starting year in launcher (advanced tab).
SWOS 90/91 already exists as a database.

Thank you for the reply. I'm not playing or using the SWOS 2020 download. I have and it is great, but the SWOS 1996/97 engine is fantastic and the hex editing capability is good. Lots of great DLC on here which has worked nicely on the PC DOS SWOS version running from BOXER on MAC.
My basic understanding is the EXE will set the starting year - but logically it must be referenced in the .CAR file. This value must increment each time the new season is loaded/created.
Perhaps it is in the same area of allocations as discussed in this post?

When you said there is already a 1990/91 data base? Where is that?

You can use SWOS 2020 and scale it back to 96/97, pitches, sounds everything you want. So, there is really no point in messing with Boxer on Mac.
The 90-91 Database can be downloaded in the DLC section of SWOS 2020.
The starting year can be simply selected in the 2020 launcher / advanced tab, but is auto-set to whatever season year you choose from DLC.
If you really want to do that for Dosbox/Boxer, you must hex edit the sws.exe file, not the career file.
